CLBC Ultimate Bowls 2019

For all skill levels from novice to experienced
Come on down and enjoy the game of “Ultimate Bowls” designed for players of all skill levels with three bowl pairs played over five ends with a shortened jack length, each game last a maximum of 25 minutes. It’s anticipated that each team will play 5 games. As with all open draw events each team of three will be drawn as per the format used in the 2-4-2.
Bar will be open.
Bowl a few games have some lunch provided by the club, then bowl some more before the awards are presented.

The game:
- Ultimate Bowls is played over 5 ends with a 30 minute time limit.
- It's a game of pairs with 3 bowls delivered per player.
- The jack length is restricted to ensure all players can play to the jack.
- Lines will be played on the green to ensure the game moves along quickly with the minimum and maximum jack length identified.
- Skip's place the jack along the line at the length they choose.
- Leads place the mat between the minimum/maximum indicators as they choose.
- Are made up of 3 players, 2 players play and the third player keeps score. Players rotate between positions at the end of each game. Teams to be drawn randomly as per CLBC regular open draw process.
- All regular laws of the game apply, with the following exceptions:
- When the jack is knocked out of play the one spot rule applies with the jack being placed on the Ultimate bowls maximum jack length indicator.
- Fun, laughter, cheering is expected.
- Players will have the opportunity to score points with every bowl that is played.
- A “toucher” (when a delivered bowls comes in contact with the jack) will earn their team 3 points
- Holding the shot when the leads have finished their bowls will earn 3 points.
- Both teams will have the opportunity to earn points on the same end; 10 points for the closest bowl, 5 points for the second-closest and 3 points for the third-closest.

- First Place: 1.75 litres of Canadian Club
- Second Place: Touchers Spray
- Third Place: Dozen bottles of San Pellogrino
- Fourth Place: Chocolate Bars
