Merit Award is available to recognize individuals' development from May 1 to April 30 in the Club's service areas, individual player development, performance, and results highlighting the Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club (Club) guiding principles.
Nomination for a Merit Award
Any member in good standing may nominate another member for consideration for a Merit award. Nominations must be submitted in writing & must be countersigned by two current members in good standing with a minimum of three years club membership and not related to the Club nominee.
The nomination should be prepared to set out the nominee's achievements & activities &, at a minimum, must meet the award criteria as set out below.
The executive committee will accept nominations for a Merit Award up to September 30 for consideration.
The Club will only approve a maximum of four members per bowling season from May 1 to April 30.
In considering the Merit Award, a nominee will have demonstrated contributions and work done on behalf of the Club (including but not limited to greens, tournaments, volunteering, work on Executive, fundraising, promotion, publicity, safety), or any other sustained service which contributes to the overall well-being of the Club. The nominee must currently be an active and in good standing member.
Process for Assessment of Applications
The Executive Committee will assess any merit award nominations based on the criteria and consider the monthly executive meetings' applications. Merit award recipients will receive their award the month following the Executive meeting.
The Merit Awards recipients' list will be announced at the fall AGM, complete with the award's nominees' contribution.
