The Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club was represented in the Qualicum Ladies’ Pairs by April Gilchrist/Janet Butler, Cath Wiseman/Shelley McCollom, Pat Cutt/Sandi Tonnellier Pat Norrad/Linda Meers. While none of our ladies finished in the money, we did have a good showing for our small club.
It is hard to keep up to the activities of the Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club. On June 6-7, 32 teams of mixed pairs took to the green for the Berwick, Comox Valley sponsored Scotch Pairs.
Lots of fun, games and costumes at Courtenay club's annual fundraiser Pat Cutt Special to the Record Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club had a fantastic Carnival Day on June 19. Carnival Day is a fundraiser to assist with clubhouse renovations in partnership with the City of Courtenay. Bowlers from Parksville, Qualicum and Powell River arrived (some in creative costume) to contribute their good spirits and sense of fun as well as their money to this cause.
6/25/2013 Competition stiff at Scotch PairsLocal lawn bowlers triumph at Brazen Sportswear tournament Courtenay lawn bowlers Vern Greenhill and April Gilchrist won their four games in the Brazen Sportswear Scotch Pairs , June 15-16 at the home green, to take the big trophy. Having won their four games, they then had to face fellow club members Pat Cutt and Al Hopwood (who had also won their four games) Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club is running hot. Qualicum Ladies Triples felt the heat, June 25-26, as Pat Cutt, Irene Whitehouse and Melie Ursulom won three of four games to take first in “B” event while Jackie West, Carolle Allen and Pat Norrad also won three of four games to win the “C” event. Sandy Mitchell, Gloria Wilcox and Brenda Edwards of Parksville were the overall winners.

Pat Cutt Special to the Record Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club has now settled into a regular schedule of club events. June 5 was the date for a sumptuous Sunday afternoon tea after the bowling and was attended by approximately 25 bowlers. Thank you, Gaynor and Betty for all your preparations. |
